Tom was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1961. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to the Orlando area where he spent his youth. Tom graduated from Lyman High School in Longwood, FL in 1980. He went on to obtain his B.A. from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN in 1984, and later his JD from the University of Florida, College of Law in 1987. Tom now resides in Winter Park, FL,  with his wife and three children. In 1997, he opened the Callan Law Firm, PA.  Over his career, Tom has successfully tried over 29 jury trials in eminent domain or real estate valuation and handled more than 900 parcels. He has also represented the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), Orlando/Orange County Expressway Authority, City of Orlando, Palm Beach County, and AT&T/Florida.
