Tenant evictions are slowed during the holiday season
Tenant evictions are often slowed down during the holiday season either because the landlord wants to give the tenant a break or because judges have less court hearing time available.
Attorney Tom Olsen: Hey, Rob, while I got you on the phone, can I ask you a question?
Attorney Rob Solomon: Yes.
Attorney Tom Olsen: I know that you do residential tenant evictions during this holiday season, Christmas, Hanukkah season. Are the judges more reluctant to evict people out of their homes? Do they intentionally delay it so that people can get through the holidays?
Attorney Rob Solomon: Well, I think that in a way they do because there's a lot less hearing times to begin with. We don't tend to have a lot of contested hearings during this period of time, and I do think judges are sensitive and so am I for that matter.
I would not want to have somebody removed from their home the week of Christmas. You're going to find that people are- at all levels of the process, you're going to be more sensitive to that issue than not.
Attorney Tom Olsen: All right, Rob, thank you so much. We appreciate it.
Attorney Rob Solomon: You're welcome. All right.
Attorney Tom Olsen: Lawyers taking time out of their Saturday morning as well. If you want to reach him at the Olsen Law Group in Orlando right now, you can call that number at 407-423-5561.
