Can I sue myself?

A text question from a listener with a sense of humor.

Attorney Tom Olsen: Chrissy, we got a text and I was going to have you read it to me. It's long and complicated. Read it to us. The text question.

Chrissy: Can I sue myself?

Attorney Tom Olsen: That's the extent of it. Four words there. Can I sue myself? It makes me remember years ago, there was a contest done. The contest was, submit to us what the ultimate question is. The winner of that contest was, why can't I tickle myself? I always remember that. That's what it makes me think of. Why can't I sue myself?

Chrissy: Same thing.

Attorney Tom Olsen: Honestly, I don't think there's anything within the law that would stop you from suing yourself. I don't think that it'd be John Doe versus John Doe. Why not? Get a judgment against John Doe. Order John Doe to stay away from him.

Chrissy: I have to say that's the first time.

Attorney Tom Olsen: First time?

Chrissy: Yes, the first time.

Attorney Tom Olsen: Been a lawyer for 37 years, nobody's ever asked me that question before.

Chrissy: There you go. There's another first.

Attorney Tom Olsen: There's always something new and different every day in this law practice.

Chrissy: Another first.

Attorney Tom Olsen: We don't know what the texter was getting at, why they would ask us such a question? Maybe just to be funny. Hey, you made us laugh. Thank you for that. We appreciate it.

Chrissy: You made us laugh and gave us a first.

Attorney Tom Olsen: Thank you. Hey, buddy. My name is Tom Olsen. The name of the show is Olsen on Law, every Saturday at 11 AM. Reach out to the Olsen Law Group at 407 423 5561. Have a great week. A Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there. We'll be back next Saturday.
