A funny story about concealed weapon and traffic stop

Attorney Tom Olsen: Brett, you're on the air, go ahead.

Brett: Good morning Tom. I just wanted to follow up real quick on your previous caller.

Attorney Tom Olsen: Okay.

Brett: I've had my concealed weapons permit for a number of years. The first time I was pulled over after I got it, like the other caller, I was a little bit nervous. The Casselberry police officer, I told her I had my permit. I asked her if she wanted to see my gun and her response could not have been more perfect.

Attorney Tom Olsen: All right.

Brett: She said, "Don't show me yours and I won't show you mine."

Attorney Tom Olsen: Oh, good for her. That's a good one, Brett.

Brett: It was perfect.

Attorney Tom Olsen: Brett, let's bring the callers up to speed because a few calls ago, we had a gentleman, he had a concealed weapons permit. He is, out of courtesy, tells the officer that he's got the gun. The officer asked him to pull the gun out, take the bullets out, and hand the empty gun to the officer. I thought that sounds strange and maybe a bit ridiculous too.

Brett: I also agree with you, but I agree, as from a practical standpoint, there's no reason not to.
