Tom's in Week 25 of the Smile Club
Attorney Tom Olsen: Chris, I wanted to bring up the Smile Club again. By the way, I'm in Week 25 of Invisalign and teeth aligners. My bite was so bad. I've been working with Dr. Jeff Martin and when he finished my first appointment 24 weeks ago is, "Tom, welcome to the smile club." I go, "You're right. I'm going to spend this kind of money on my teeth, I am going to be a smile person." It's really transformed my life. I'm 64 years old, I'd never smiled like this before and it was different for me. It requires some different muscles, but it's getting to be some muscle memory. I started by smiling at you and then our kiddos, then people at the office. Then I got out of my comfort zone and now when I walk Max around the neighborhood I'm waving and smiling to the people that are driving by me, even if I don't know them.
Attorney Chris Merrill: Yay, good job.
Attorney Tom Olsen: I highly recommend it to everybody this bright smile because when you approach people, whether you know them somewhat or whether they're complete strangers, man, when you approach them with a smile, they immediately know what your intentions are and they're ready to be engaging in conversation.
Attorney Chris Merrill: It makes all the difference.
Attorney Tom Olsen: It's really important for me because you know what, I'm a big white guy intimidating and people find me intimidating. When you got the smile man, it just turns it all around.
Attorney Chris Merrill: They know immediately like you said that, you are a tall guy and when you smile at them they know that you're starting out with, "Hey. This is a friendly approach."
Attorney Tom Olsen: I recommend it out to other people. I hope there are other people out there that understand what I'm talking about and about smiling at people. I heard a couple of months ago that there's such a division in this country about politics and some other things, but somebody said, if you know somebody's story it's hard to not like them because you can't just look at somebody and say they support this candidate, therefore, I don't like them because you need to know their whole story. I'll tell you what, when you're smiling at somebody it's hard not to like them.
Attorney Chris Merrill: Absolutely.
