How to get free in home care for seniors in Florida
Attorney Tom Olsen: If your parents are getting up in age and they need some help around the home, you yourself are going there every day giving them a few hours of help with cooking and light cleaning, I want you to know that there is a service called Medicaid Waiver where the government, Medicaid, will send people to their homes. Robert, tell the listeners about that.
Attorney Robert Hidock: This is one of the best programs that no one knows about. I actually was in an appointment yesterday with one of our attorneys here, Holly,- [crosstalk].
Speaker 3: Caller Don Orlando.
Robert: -and early stages of dementia, and there's a program that's called Medicaid's Long-Term Care Waiver where they can actually waive a nursing home and receive home health care. They qualify for Medicaid, they'll get 30 hours of home care a week, and it will allow them to stay at home longer and not have to go into a nursing home.
Tom: That's everybody's wish and desire, to stay at home as long as possible, and with this Medicaid waiver team, that's going to help them to do that, so if you've got some elderly parents, so if you've got a spouse that needs some help, and you'd like some up to 30 hours of home care, that's the Medicaid Waiver Program. I'd contact the Olsen Law Group next week, and we can give you more information about.
